Thoughts of inferiority attack us all. No one, no matter how
beautiful or successful, is immune.
How should you determine how valuable you are?
The best way to determine the value of something is to find out
what someone is willing to pay for it. What was the price God
was willing to pay for you?

32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for
us all, won't he also give us everything else?
The price God was willing to pay for you was the death of His
Son. No greater price could have been paid!
Who should you allow to determine your value? Who is really
smart enough to know you and your potential?
A parent?
A spouse?
A boyfriend or girlfriend?
A neighbor?
A boss or teacher?
Hardly! All these people are limited in their knowledge and
understanding. Compared to God, they are not really that smart!
God thinks you are extremely valuable! Don't let the devil rob
this precious truth from you.
While you are not yet displaying your full potential, God sees
what you will eventually become. God thinks you are valuable
enough to die for!
Although there are billions of other humans, you are not lost
in the crowd. God knows you! He knows the number of hairs on
your head! He knows every desire and dream you have. And even
though He knows everything about you, He still loves you with
an everlasting love!
God is committed to you. He has promised to never leave you or
forsake you.

Deliver Us from Evil
Scripture: “As
a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.” Proverbs 26:11.
Although this
is one of the most repulsive verses in the Bible, It’s so gross that a creature
would re-ingest what it has already expelled from its
body!
But a message
we can take from this wise saying is that once we have expelled our horrid sin,
or foolishness, from our lives, we do NOT want to return to that way of
life! We should desire to put away our foolishness and sin in favor of
living a godly lifestyle.
As disgusting
as this is, we sometimes don’t even realize that we are going to retrieve our
“vomit.” However, our Lord is a saving God, and we can trust that He will
deliver us.
We
All Sin
Everyone on
earth is born into sin; we none of us escape it! But God loves us so much
that He has allowed us to place our trust in Him through His Son, Jesus Christ
.
The Apostle
Paul wrote that no matter what we have done in our lives before we become
Christians,
“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is
true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has
sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with
undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through
Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans
3:22-24)
After we commit
to Christ, we must maintain our new Christian lifestyle – this can be
difficult; we ARE still human! But we want to put aside any sin and
anything that comes between us and our relationship with the Lord.
We might still
mess up; that’s life, and it just happens. It is important to pay
attention to your thoughts, words, and actions, trying to ensure you try to
live like Jesus – with honor for God and compassion for your fellow human.
And when we mess up, we can trust the Lord to forgive us and help us grow
closer to Him; we just have to ask and put off the trappings of this
world
Better
off Never Having Known
But what if
someone claims to be Christian but allows themselves to “return to their
vomit,” or their sinful way of life? The Bible is pretty clear that this
would be a deeply distressing event.
“ When people escape from the
wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then
get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.
It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than
to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.
They prove the truth of this proverb: ‘A dog returns to its
vomit.’” (from 2 Peter 2:20-25)
We followers of
Christ are commanded to live a holy life – to live set apart from sin.
What a great gift of freedom this is! It’s like being healed of a bad
stomach virus; no-one wants to return to the pain and degradation of that kind
of illness.
So what is your “vomit?” What sin easily trips you up? God
continues to forgive us for sins after we are saved, but we must be watchful
that we grow in HIS life for us, rather than keep on sinning.
We
Will Face Troubles
Jesus taught
His disciples to request that God will “deliver us from evil.” (from Matthew 6:13) Jesus knew that just as He Himself was to face
persecution and evil, so His followers down through the years would be tested.
When you give
your life to Christ and strive to live life righteously in His sight, life will
be more joyful, but it won’t necessarily be much easier. A Christian
might face a life full of torment and annoyances from evil forces. We are
given God’s promise in the Book of Psalms, however: “The righteous person faces many
troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
In other words,
no matter what comes into your path, you do NOT have to worry; the Lord will
provide what we need in times of trouble!
Praise
for Deliverance
When God shows
us His path for a godly lifestyle, protecting us from returning to our “vomit,”
we are blessed! We owe Him thanks and
praise
King David
wrote many songs of praise for God’s deliverance: “You are my hiding place; You
protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.” (Psalm
32:7)
David was
someone who gave his life to God; he was “A man after [God’s] Own heart.” (1 Samuel 13:14) Nonetheless, he had huge problems with sinning.
But he consistently sought God’s forgiveness and strove to throw off the
trappings of sin. He knew he could depend on God in times of temptation
and distress.
We live in a
distressing, fallen world. We hear of terrible happenings all over the
world. When you too face trials, remember that God is our strength and
our deliverer. He wants what’s best for you, like a loving parent!
So when you are
tempted to sin, turn to the Lord for guidance and protection from earthly
desires. Join David in praise to our God, “This I declare about the
Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I
trust Him.” (Psalm 91:2)

Apple CEO visits Foxconn's iPhone plant in China
SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Apple Inc's Tim Cook, on his first
trip to China as
the chief executive
officer, has visited an iPhone production plant run by the Foxconn Technology
Group, which is being accused of improper labour practices.
China is the world's largest mobile market and already Apple's second-biggest
market overall, but its growth there is clouded by issues ranging from a
contested iPad trademark to treatment of local labour.

cited Vice Premier Li Keqiang as saying.
Apple has tie-ups with China Telecom and
China Unicom to
sell its iPhone, with the only other Chinese carrier, China Mobile, the
country's biggest mobile operator, also looking to clinch a deal.
Apple is embroiled in a long-running
dispute with Proview - a financially weak technology company that claims to have
registered the iPad trademark - that is making its way through Chinese courts
and threatens to disrupt iPad sales.
Company linked to meningitis scare besieged as deaths rise
CHICAGO (Reuters) - The company that
produced contaminated medications linked to an unprecedented fungal meningitis outbreak
faced mounting scrutiny on Saturday over whether it illegally sold drugs to
medical facilities, as the death toll from the disease grew to 15.
The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) said another person died from meningitis, the second death in Indiana. The
number of cases of the disease reported reached 201 in 14 states, according to
the CDC and state officials.
Illinois reported its first case of
meningitis from a steroid injection and New Hampshire officials reported that
state's first four confirmed cases from the outbreak, which showed no signs of
abating.
Tennessee is the worst affected state with
six deaths and 52 cases followed by Michigan with three deaths and 41 cases,
including one case of an infection that has not been confirmed as
meningitis.
As federal and state authorities scrambled to contain the outbreak,
investigators were trying to determine how the medication produced by New
England Compounding Center was contaminated and whether its sprawling drug
supply business complied with licensing laws.
A series of emails between the company and a clinic in
Mississippi reviewed by Reuters show that NECC sold drugs without requiring
physicians to supply individual patient prescriptions. The customer confirmed
that NECC supplied the clinic with drugs without patient names or prescriptions,
which are required by a number of states including Massachusetts, where the company is
based.
The emails also indicate that NECC referred
business to a sister company, Ameridose LLC, despite a
statement by Ameridose earlier this week that the two operated separately.
NECC has recalled the suspect product, surrendered its license to operate in
Massachusetts and suspended operations. Ameridose also has temporarily suspended
operations."NECC's intent has always been to operate in compliance with our licenses in the states where we do business," the company said in a statement.
FEDERAL CRITICISM
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is investigating NECC and there have been calls from some in Congress for a criminal investigation of the company.
22 saved from sinking boat in San Francisco Bay

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Nearly two dozen people who were enjoying a bachelor party on what's billed as San Francisco Bay's only "floating wine tasting room" are OK after their boat hit a shoal near Alcatraz Island and began sinking Friday night, officials said.
The 45-foot Neptune hit the shoal around 8:42 p.m. and started taking on water after the impact left a 1-foot gash in the side of the boat, U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Lt. j.g. Josh Dykman said.
The boat's captain tried to steer the stricken vessel to San Francisco's Pier 39. But the boat started having rudder issues and began to sink about 300 feet from the pier, Dykman said.
Three Coast Guard boats took all 22 passengers and crewmembers off the vessel and brought them to the pier, Dykman said. San Francisco fire and San Francisco police boats also responded. There were no injuries.
"We were only in the boat for maybe about 20 minutes or so," Matthew Rice, the party's guest of honor, told KGO-TV. "We were coming around Alcatraz checking it out and all of a sudden it was like boom, just like a big jolt and the next thing we knew the Coast Guard boats came in and got us off."The Neptune is a 1958 motor vessel operated by San Francisco Bay Boat Cruises LLC, which offers "specialty voyages" on San Francisco Bay, according to the company's website.
The boat is certified to carry 42 passengers, according to the company."It was just an unfortunate event," said Melissa McDowell, who operates the cruise boat as family-run business, along with her husband and adult daughter.
All three family members were on board at the time, and assisted the passengers off the boat, McDowell said.The captain of the boat is the tiny company's only employee, McDowell said.
"Every one of our passengers were amazing," she said. "They followed instructions and were good humored about it."
The cause of the incident is under investigation. The damaged boat was towed to Sausalito Boat Works where it will be repaired. There were no reports of pollution, Dykman said.

Next, carry your dental, vision and health care cards in your wallet whenever going to the doctor, and especially keep you primary care card on you at all times in case you have go to the hospital in the event of an emergency. However, be aware that Medicare cards still display social security numbers. Experts recommend using a photocopy and blocking the digits except the final four. This should work for all follow-up visits.
Another way to lighten your load is to clear out those receipts daily — and especially shred those receipts that contain any personal banking information. For receipts you want to save, keep them safe by going digital. Apps such as Lemon Wallet and Shoeboxed create and categorize digital copies of your receipts and business cards.
You may think this goes without saying, but never keep you passport, social security card, birth certificate or anything containing passwords in your wallet or purse. It’s a huge security risk. In the event you have a lost or stolen wallet, you want to know what you’re missing. Every few months, take inventory of your wallet by making a list, photocopy or even a digital scan of all its contents. Keep that list in a safe place.

It would be recalled that the party’s chairman, Kaduna State chapter, Mohammed Soba, had on Friday accused the national leader of the party of selling its presidential flag bearer in the 2011 election to President Goodluck Jonathan, who was PDP’s candidate, for $100m (N16bn).
Reacting to the allegation, the National Publicity Secretary of the ACN, Lai Mohammed, described it as “absolute nonsense,” and challenged Soba to approach the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, if he had proof to back his claim.
He said, “The allegation is absolute nonsense. It’s just a reaction of a person who wants to sit-tight on a position from which he has been duly removed. He has not only been removed from being the chairman of ACN in Kaduna State, he has also been suspended from the party.
“Why doesn’t he just approach the EFCC, if he thinks he is sure of what he is saying? Why he came out with this is because I issued a statement that we were going to court to stop the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission from conducting local government elections in the state because they are dealing with a faction of the party that has been rejected.”
Sabo had earlier told the party’s secretary that: “We challenge Lai Mohammed and the national secretary of the party, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, to tell the whole world why state chapters like Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Nassarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba and Kaduna states are all facing national leadership induced crises.”

to overload a website's servers with traffic -- and deleting information. The
point of Panetta's remarks are that it could be much worse. The potential danger

The figures combine the Obama campaign's fund raising with Democratic National Committee efforts. The amount fell short of the Obama and DNC's single-month record, set in September 08, of $193 million. Romney has yet to make public his fund-raising haul.
Obama campaign manager, Jim Messina, emailed supporters with the "huge news."
Messina emphasized that the campaign and DNC had pulled in more than 10 million donations in 2012, a record.
"Day in and day out, what gives the President confidence and inspiration is knowing that you have his back -- that matters," said Messina. "We're all going to do the best we can over next 31 days to honor that support."

After reaching session highs within the first hour, the major averages reversed and spent the remainder of the day sliding towards the unchanged level. As a result, the S&P 500 ended flat while the Dow advanced 0.3% to close at its best level in five years.
Nonfarm payrolls were reported at 114K versus the 120K Briefing.com consensus. The prior reading was revised up to 142K from 96K. Meanwhile, nonfarm private payrolls added 104K against the 130K consensus. The unemployment rate was reported at 7.8% versus the 8.1% consensus.
In addition, hourly earnings increased by 0.3% while the expectations called for an uptick of 0.2%. Lastly, average workweek ticked up to 34.5 from 34.4.
The materials sector led the way. Within the group, steel producers outperformed. AK Steel (AKS 4.87, +0.05) and Steel Dynamics (STLD 11.91, +0.18) added 1.0% and 1.5%, respectively.
Telecom stocks were the biggest laggard. However, the underperformance was due to notable weakness in a single stock. Inteliquent (IQNT 7.70, -1.36) fell 15.0% after Robert W. Baird downgraded the stock from ‘outperform' to ‘neutral' and lowered its price target from $15 to $10. Originally, Robert W. Baird upgraded the stock in the spring on the expectation of a financial engineering catalyst. Although that catalyst was achieved, the firm says results have unfortunately deteriorated more than expected and there now appears to be increased material risk to forward estimates.

Many Republicans can't help but wonder if a student wearing a pro-Obama T-Shirt in a Philadelphia school would have been subject to the kind of humiliation that Samantha Pawlucy was forced to endure.
